In what has been billed this year’s royal wedding, Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge exchanged. Vows at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes on a Saturday in late April. The 24-year old model – the daughter of singer Lionel Richie got engaged to music executive Elliot in April 2022, after Elliot popped the question in Hawaii after a year of dating.

Celebrity guests including Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Joel Madden travelled to the South of France for the whirlwind wedding weekend, which has been all over social media since the big day.

Sofia rocked no fewer than three Chanel dresses for her wedding celebrations – rehearsal dinner, the ceremony and the celebrity-packed reception. The gown the bride wore to say her vows included subtle details like an embroidered heart to represent the love that the couple share, as well as a blue embroidered S&E on the inside of the dress above Sofia’s heart.” Sofia’s veil glistened, adorned as it was with resin water droplets that sparkled as she walked.

For the other two looks, Sofia collaborated closely with her stylist, Liat Baruch, and Douchez to scour through Chanel couture shows of the past and choose the loos she loved. When it came to the rehearsal-dinner look, the team recreated a gown worn by Stella Tennant in a 1997 Chanel couture catwalk show. The bride’s sister, Nicole Richie, designed a pair of diamond earrings to complement the rehearsal dinner dress. All the bride’s other jewellery pieces were by Fred Leighton including the chandelier aquamarine stone earrings Sofia wore for the evening reception, which served as her something blue.” Dashing groom Elliot wore a Ralph Lauren suit at the rehearsal dinner and a Tom Ford tuxedo for the wedding itself, while the seven bridesmaids were in all black.

Following dinner, Sofia changed into a fun frock inspired by a Claudia Schiffer Chanel number from the 1990s. The couple danced the night away with their guests, including two of their favourite Lionel Richie sounds, performed by the bride’s father – ‘Hello’ and ‘Stuck On You’.
