Top Trends from Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2024
The highlight of the buying calendar for many a bridal boutique and as the doors close on Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2024, it surely did not disappoint! An explosion of bridal fashion with all the glitz and glamour one would expect from this incredible industry event. Let's take a look at the key bridal trends, fresh from the catwalk and see what some of your stand-out styles were from the show...
LUMINOUS LAYERS
Kicking off proceedings, Jesus Peiro took to the catwalk with the new collection 'Luminière' displaying an array of sculpted silhouettes with a contrast of heavy and light materials and transparent veils representing purity and light.
ROMANCE IN RUFFLES
Catching the eyes for individuality, Giambattista Valli presented his debut bridal collection 'The Love Collection' full of romance and a whole load of edge, with floral bodies, dramatic ruffles with all the volume. This Paris based, Italian designer certainly set the stage for romantic bridal haute couture.
CREATING SHAPES
Step aside traditional bridal silhouettes and welcome geometric shapes, which were a trend seen across many of the catwalk creations. The new Atelier Pronovias collection for 2025 gave us bridal innovation with shapes with designs inspired by the city and streets of Barcelona,
VOLUME HAS NO BOUNDRIES
Big is back! With many collections displaying regal elegance and oversized skirts, such as the latest collection from Prof Jimmy Choo 'Luminous Reverie'
ETHEREAL ELEGANCE
Featuring floaty fabrics, delicate detailing and lots of layering, the ethereal vibe was strong.
Featuring Global Bridal House, Carta Branca and Yolan Cris
FLORALS
Remaining a key trend for the foreseeable, florals were featured in many of the collections and no one does a floral gown like our very own Josephine Scott London.
CHOSEN BY YOU!
We asked some of you to tell us your stand out styles from the show. Here are some of your hot picks below...
Dress Dreams Bridal gave us the new Ricca Sposa collection, full of beautiful structure and layering, enhancing the feminine form. Wow!
Ellie Sanderson says "Big full skirts and corsets from the 80s are back. This is literally the best thing as they are mostly two pieces meaning you can swap one skirt out for another and double up on mini or micro pleat trousers sales for the evening. Caroline Castigliano, Hera Couture, Eva Lendel and Chosen by Khya led the way with some incredible corset options. Tons of dropped waists also by Chosen by Khya - literally loving this new season."
Laura Daly from Bellissima Weddings loved this gorgeous creation from Morilee who really wow'd the crowd on the catwalk.
Kiva & Zen Bridal were blown away by the killer corsetry at KYHA Studios.
And thats a wrap! Barcelona, you were brilliant. We can't wait for next year already.
