London label, 29 Atelier was created by Elizabeth Ruddick who started her fashion career as a young entrepreneur with her bridal boutique before training at the University for the Creative Arts where she honed her skills in design couture dress-making, and tailoring. With a deep love of bridal wear, Elizabeth created 29 Atelier in London.

We caught up with Elizabeth to learn more about this exciting British bridal label and see what she has in store for 2024.

WHY BRIDAL?

I wanted to re-think bridal wear, the demand for eco-conscious, British-crafted, contemporary bridal wear is rising and I wanted to meet this demand offering brides a stunning collection of gowns inspired by couture.

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY OF FASHION DESIGN?

Watching my Mum, Aunties and Nannie make their own clothes, inspired me to draw out my own designs.

WHAT IS YOUR SIGNATURE STYLE?

Classic styling with a twist.

WHAT DOES YOUR BRIDE LOOK LIKE?

It’s not a look it’s a state of mind. Confident and unapologetically themselves.

If you were getting married again in the UK where would the wedding be and what would you wear?

I know my husband and I would want to repeat our wedding venue exactly, Marylebone Townhall. I would wear my Jagger jumpsuit.

The Archive Collection:  A sustainable investment for buyers as it transcends into the traditional buying season. It’s a collection boutiques can build and add to. Light and movement is a core element. I love the way beautiful fabrics reflect the light and I want the dresses also to feel light and comfortable to wear, so the bride can be free to move and enjoy wearing their once in a lifetime gown
